Control Freak Society: Government To Monitor School Lunches With Cameras

Barcoded kids line up for calorie counting compliance training

Several schools in San Antonio are being provided with government grants to install surveillance equipment in cafeterias as part of a government funded project to monitor every morsel of food that the children eat.

Billed as part of an effort to reduce obesity and improve eating habits, small cameras are programmed to take snapshots of lunch trays before and after each student eats. Each child is uniquely identifiable via a barcode attached to the tray. The amount of calories and nutrients that each child has consumed is then calculated via a database containing 7,500 different varieties of food.

The entire project is being funded by a U.S. Department of Agriculture grant to the tune of $2 million.

“We’re trying to be as passive as possible. The kids know they’re being monitored,” Dr. Roger Echon told the Associated Press. Echon, who works for the San Antonio-based Social & Health Research Center, is building the food-recognition program.

The aim of the study, according to the researchers is ” to study what foods children are likely to choose and how much they’re eating”, in addition to influencing parents to alter their child’s eating habits at home.

The principal of the five schools involved, described by researchers as “poor minority campuses”, told the AP that 90% of parents agreed to allow their children to be monitored, adding that he believes those who have resisted do not understand the project.

“Nothing in the program says they can’t have something,” principal Mark Davis said. “It just says
we’re tracking what it is.”

This is yet another example of the shocking acceleration of the nanny state.

Is it really necessary to barcode kids like rats in a lab and database everything they eat in order to promote healthy eating? Why not just serve healthy food free from additives and preservatives? Oh right I forgot, that is not a part of the vision for the perfect control freak society.

Where does this end? Will parents receive letters from the government informing them that little Jimmy is not eating his greens? Will the government move to ration your child’s calorie intake? Will the government issue fines to parents whose children’s eating habits do not match up to a predetermined definition of a “balanced diet”?

Just last month it emerged that schools in Chicago have banned parents from giving their children packed lunches, forcing kids to eat in the cafeteria in order to “protect students from the potential for unhealthy homemade lunches”.

Of course, should kids be allowed to eat their own lunches the government would not be able to effectively monitor them.

The precedent was set long ago to demonize any parents who try to keep the government out of their children’s lives. Parents who attempt to take their kids out of the predatory public school system by home schooling are even being spied on by authorities. A Mississippi state judge recently ordered that state officials gather the names of every single child being home schooled in the state in order that they be kept on a watch list.

Mayor Bloomberg is forcing food manufacturers in New York to reduce the amount of salt content in food under the National Salt Reduction Initiative, while at the same time spending $25 million on a program to fluoridate the water supply with a toxic waste, sodium fluoride, that contributes to lowering IQ and has been linked to cancers as well as disorders affecting teeth, bones, the brain and the thyroid gland. Food additives like aspartame and MSG, which are a far deadlier health threat than salt, are not being targeted by the government.

Indeed, New York is the model for the rest of the country. The Department of Health has slapped strict regulations on anything deemed “risky recreational activities” conducted by programs or organizations. Wiffle ball, dodge ball, kick ball, freeze tag, red rover, frisbee tossing and tug of war have all been placed under the new rules. If an organization offers two or more recreational activities, with just one being on the “risky” list, it is deemed to be a summer camp and comes under state regulation which entails fees and the necessity to provide medical staff. “Classics like Capture the Flag, Steal the Bacon and Red Rover are also deemed dangerous in new state regulations for day camps,” reports the New York Daily News. This is all part of the process of the state replacing the parents as guardians of the children and it is designed to ensure that kids become nothing more than drug-addled, dependent slobs with no energy and no life experience, perfectly molding them to grow up as obedient, video-game playing, Clockwork Orange-style droogs.

Monitoring of school children extends beyond the cafeteria and gym class, however, as evidenced last year in a shocking case in Philadelphia, where a school district issued laptop computers to 1,800 students across two high schools and then used concealed cameras within the machines to spy on students and their parents without their knowledge or consent.

In today’s big brother control freak society this is the norm. In the UK, the state has gone one further by pumping $700 million into a program to install surveillance cameras inside the private homes of citizens to ensure that children go to bed on time, attend school and eat proper meals.

Private businesses have also jumped on the rise of the nanny state, and the government’s control freak agenda, recognizing a money spinner when they see one. Google, for example, wishes to control everything inside your home, as the company recently announced at its annual I/O developers conference in San Francisco:

“We’d like to think of your entire home as an accessory, or better yet as a network of accessories, and think of Android as the operating system for your home,” said Joe Britt, head of the Android@Home team.

These examples barely scratch the surface of the nanny state offensive that has been launched as part of the establishment’s social engineering program.

These developments represent a total power grab on behalf of the federal government as it bids to become the supreme authority over Americans from cradle to grave. This is about a complete transformation and re-engineering of society, a calculated coup d’état against individuality, designed to oppress and enslave the population.

It is imperative that Americans re-assert their individuality and the right to make their own choices and live their lives as they wish by resisting every encroachment the state makes as it tramples personal freedom.

Chicago holds a record number of surveillance cameras, estimated at up to 10,000. Public and private old-school and state-of-the-art lenses watch citizens round the clock.

The network is said to cost 60 million dollars. RT’s Anastasia Churkina travels to Chicago to discover what this means for privacy in America, considering the city’s darkest chapters of history when the Red Squad — special police squads — unlawfully spied on citizens who were politically unfavorable.

Fukushima Nuclear Meltdown, Exposed Fuel Rods; Media Shrugs

TEPCO has been lying all along about the severity of the crisis

Thursday, May 12, 2011

A recent video regarding the on-going nuclear disaster at the Fukushima Dai-ichi Plant in northeastern Japan details how fuel rods from reactor #3 were found as far as 2 miles from the plant after the reactor exploded.

Despite the bombshell revelation that fuel rods at the Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear plant have been fully exposed since the early days of the disaster, that reactor number 1 is officially in meltdown, along with news that reactor 4 is on the verge of collapse, the corporate media is largely disinterested in the story amidst continued fearmongering about terror attacks and endless coverage of the Bin Laden carnival act.

Bloomberg, One of the few mainstream news outlets to give the story the attention it deserves, reports, “Tokyo Electric Power Co. said one of the reactor cores at its stricken Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear plant is more seriously damaged than previously thought, setting back the utility’s plan to resolve the crisis.”

“Fuel rods in the core of the No. 1 reactor are fully exposed, with the water level 1 meter (3.3 feet) below the base of the fuel assembly, Junichi Matsumoto, a general manager at the utility known as Tepco, told reporters at a briefing in Tokyo. Melted fuel has dropped to the bottom of the pressure vessel and is still being cooled, Matsumoto said.”

In other words, officials have been forced to admit for the first time that reactor 1 suffered a nuclear meltdown, leading to concerns that “radioactive fuel may have burned a hole through the bottom of the containment vessel, causing water to leak.”

In addition, reactor number 4 is also reported to be “leaning” and in danger of complete collapse.
TEPCO has consistently underplayed and outright lied about the severity of the crisis in the two months since it began, claiming all along that fuel rods were only ever exposed for a limited period of time, when in fact they have been fully exposed since the very beginning.

Those who maintained that TEPCO was deliberately lying about the severity of the situation, labeled alarmist by many quarters of the media, have now been vindicated. But the corporate press has only offered a collective shrug to today’s shocking developments, burying the story under a mountain of propaganda about Bin Laden’s alleged personal diary as the establishment continues to keep people obsessed and fearful of terror attacks.

TEPCO’s proven deception has prompted a top official with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission to issue a statement today that implies the Japanese have been lying about levels of radiation released from Fukushima, in addition to other measurements, since the very start of the crisis.
“The reliability of instrumentation complicates our understanding of the exact plant conditions at any given time,” Bill Borchardt, the commission’s executive director of operations, said Thursday.
That’s diplomatic talk for ‘they’ve been lying to us all along’.

The exposed fuel rods have been spewing radiation that has largely been unaccounted for by authorities in their official measurements, but despite the fact that there is a 20km exclusion zone around the site, evacuees were put at risk after they were allowed to return to their homes earlier this week to collect belongings.

Although the scale of the Fukushima disaster has been put on a par with Chernobyl and latest developments suggest the crisis is only getting worse, the mass media has collectively decided to virtually ignore the story altogether, proving once again that Americans are being fed on a diet of bread and circuses that leaves them dangerously ignorant of what really matters in the world.

Controversy over child’s flag drawing
Teacher allegedly refused to hang up picture

Matt Caron
ORANGE, Mass. (WWLP) – A civil rights controversy is brewing at an elementary school in the Town of Orange, and it all surrounds an11 year-old’s drawing of the American Flag.

The family of Frankie Girard is claiming that their son’s civil rights were violated after a teacher allegedly told him that hanging his picture of the American flag would offend another student.

The Butterfield Elementary School is at the center of controversy for the incident on Monday. According to Frankie Girard’s father, John, the boy was in art class drawing a picture.

“He was denied hanging the flag up. And, he asked if he could just even hang it on his desk, and he was told no. He could take the picture that he drew and take it home and be proud of it there,” Girard said.

So, that is where it is, among the hundreds of other family pictures and military honors that adorn the walls of the Girard family home.

According to his father, the teacher told Frankie that his drawing of the American Flag would offend one of his classmates. “We’re allowing him to display his civil rights and be proud of who he is, but we’re denying Franklin those same rights,” Girard said.

22News tried to contact the Superintendent, Dr. Paul Burnim. He refused to go on camera, but told 22News over the phone that nobody ever told Franklin the drawing was offensive, and said the only reason it wasn’t hung was because Franklin was supposed to be doing other work; not drawing a picture. In a statement he said: “Each of our schools flies the American Flag every day. At the Butterfield School, the Pledge of Allegiance is recited by students and staff. And the other schools recite the Pledge of Allegiance at least once per week.”

The controversy is stirring heated debate within the Town of Orange. “I served 15 years in the military so that we could hang the flag wherever we wanted to, so I’m very offended,” Faith Sullivan of Orange said.

A Facebook group called “I support Frankie Girard and the U.S. Flag” already has about 700 likes in two days.

The superintendent told 22News that Frankie’s father is “going to extremes” and that the school has always respected the American Flag.

Frankie’s father told 22News that he is so outraged that he placed a call to the American Civil Liberties Union.

NEW VIDEO: Proof Bin Laden Death Another Gov’t Lie
Thursday, May 12th, 2011
Alex Jones & Aaron Dykes
May 12, 2011

Alex Jones debunks the legacy of lies that fill the pages of the phony War on Terror narrative– killing bin Laden, 9/11, Iraq, all of it– in a special video address. This “war” which has consumed our society is nothing more than a dramatized narrative meant to frighten the simple, captive public into accepting greater societal control.

Bin Laden was a strawman-villain concocted by the Western intelligence apparatus to take the blame for the orchestrated terror that is scripted and carried out by the globalist-allied factions. The Phantom Osama bin Laden was a skeleton key opening the door to foreign intervention in the middle east or anywhere al Qaeda might be. The motive is simple– ever-expanding wars for the military industrial complex, and the often more lucrative periods of reconstruction (i.e. you break it, you buy it). The occupation continues here at home with the creation of a police state supposedly meant to combat terrorism.

So rotten is the “big lie” of the War on Terror, that the most iconic events of the period are the most contrived. The official story about the killing of bin Laden disintegrated in mere days, as no one could keep the story straight. But it’s just the latest episode of a fairy tale that’s been sold to the public for nearly a decade; this story, told with a straight face, is not simply riddled with lies, but wholly subsists of them.
Everything has been lie– cooked-evidence about WMDs in Iraq, bogus claims about mobile weapons labs & yellow cake, the Hollywood-scripted Jessica Lynch-incident, the shameful murder of Pat Tillman, the false-flag attacks on 9/11, sticking it to the victims’ families & first responders, manufacturing links between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda, false-flag scenarios in the Downing Street memos, planted flash mobs at the White House & Ground Zero cheering ‘We got him’ to boost appeal for Obama, phony bin Laden videos faked by assets at SITE and the Intel Center, Osama’s CIA identity Tim Osman, secret backing for the Taliban in 1979, fake terror alerts– all of it.

Alex appeals to the facts in the historical record and an instinctual rejection of the pure lies put out by the establishment. You don’t want to miss this video; hopefully you can use it to reach those who felt “renewed” by reports of bin Laden’s death and are accepting the big lies all over again for the thrill of celebrating “the kill.” It’s a shoddy hoax to bolster public support, but even that illusion is falling apart. The L.A. Times reports that Obama’s “bin Laden bump” has already fallen back to Earth with the rate of gravity.

After all, the system has no credibility, and cheap lies about bin Laden have minimal value. Such easily exposed lies can be dumped on Obama as political baggage just as easily as it can boost him in the polls. The persistence of the Left-Right paradigm allows Obama & Bush alike to be dumped on for the failures & frauds of the system, actually giving cover to the continuity of government agenda, which milks power from the perceived need for greater “safety” measures as well as failed leadership.

28 Statistics About Gutting Of U.S. Economy That Will Blow Your Mind

Thursday, May 12th, 2011
The American Dream
May 12, 2011

Red alert! Over 40 billion dollars of America’s national wealth is being shipped out of the country every single month. Our economy is being gutted and we are bleeding wealth and we are bleeding jobs. This is a distress call. Is anyone listening? Thousands of our factories and millions of our jobs are being shipped overseas. Over the past decade over 6 trillion dollars have been transferred into the hands of foreigners. Our national government is so broke that they constantly have to go and beg those foreigners to lend us back some of that money in order to finance our exploding debt. The number of good jobs continues to decline and there are millions upon millions of my countrymen that are unemployed. Can anybody help us? Mayday! Mayday! Mayday!

Sadly, the vast majority of Americans really are dead asleep on this issue. They just continue to run out to the big retail stores and fill their carts with products made in China and yet they seem completely bewildered by the fact that the number of good jobs continues to decline.
Over the past decade, the number of middle class jobs has fallen by about ten percent. There is a reason for this. America is becoming poorer. The economic pie is shrinking. When we ship 40 to 50 billion dollars into the hands of foreigners every single month, that means that there is a lot less wealth for all of us to divide up.

Every single month, the U.S. ships in massive amounts of foreign oil and massive amounts of cheap plastic trinkets from places such as China which we greedily consume. In return, we send them a giant pile of money.
This happens month after month after month. You see, we always need more of their oil and more of their plastic trinkets. They are more than happy to keep getting richer and richer.

Meanwhile, thousands of our factories and millions of our jobs continue to be sent overseas where labor is far cheaper. Thanks to globalization, American workers much now directly compete for jobs with workers that are willing to work for less than a dollar an hour on the other side of the globe.

The dismantling of our economy is happening right in front of our eyes and most of our politicians are not doing a thing to stop it.
The following are 28 statistics about the gutting of the U.S. economy that will blow your mind….

#1 According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. trade deficit for the month of March was $48.2 billion. That was up from $45.4 billion in February.

#2 The United States has had a negative trade balance every single yearsince 1976.

#3 Between December 2000 and December 2010, the U.S. ran a total trade deficit of 6.1 trillion dollars.

#4 The U.S. trade deficit with China in March was $18.1 billion. This is money that is not going to support U.S. businesses and U.S. workers. If that money was actually going to our businesses and to our workers it would increase tax revenues.

#5 Since China entered the WTO in 2001, the U.S. trade deficit with China has grown by an average of 18% per year.

#6 During 2010, we spent $365 billion on goods and services from China while they only spent $92 billion on goods and services from us.

#7 Since 2005, Americans have gobbled up Chinese products and services totaling $1.1 trillion, but the Chinese have only spent $272 billion on American goods and services.

#8 The U.S. trade deficit with China in 2010 was 27 times larger than it was back in 1990.

#9 According to a recent report from the Economic Policy Institute, between 2001 and 2008 the United States lost 2.4 million jobs due to the growing trade deficit with China. Every single state in America experienced a net job loss due to our trade deficit with China during that time period.

#10 The United States has lost an average of 50,000 manufacturing jobs per month since China joined the World Trade Organization in 2001.

#11 The United States has lost a staggering 32 percent of its manufacturing jobs since the year 2000.

#12 Between December 2000 and December 2010, 38 percent of the manufacturing jobs in Ohio were lost, 42 percent of the manufacturing jobs in North Carolina were lost and 48 percent of the manufacturing jobs in Michigan were lost.

#13 Back in 1970, 25 percent of all jobs in the United States were manufacturing jobs. Today, only 9 percent of the jobs in the United States are manufacturing jobs.

#14 China produced 19.8 percent of all the goods consumed in the world last year. The United States only produced 19.4 percent.

#15 According to the IMF, China is going to have the largest economy in the world by 2016.

#16 Nobel economist Robert W. Fogel of the University of Chicago is projecting that the Chinese economy will be three times larger than the U.S. economy by the year 2040 if current trends continue.

#17 Back in 1998, the United States had 25 percent of the world’s high tech export market and China had just 10 percent. Ten years later, the United States had less than 15 percent and China’s share had soared to 20 percent.

#18 Manufacturing employment in the U.S. computer industry was actually lower in 2010 than it was in 1975.

#19 In 2002, the United States had a trade deficit in “advanced technology products” of $16 billion with the rest of the world. In 2010, that number skyrocketed to $82 billion.

#20 Last year, China produced 11 times as much steel as the United States did.

#21 Do you remember when the United States was the dominant manufacturer of automobiles and trucks on the globe? Well, in 2010 the U.S. ran a trade deficit in automobiles, trucks and parts of $110 billion.

#22 In 2010, South Korea exported 12 times as many automobiles, trucks and parts to us as we exported to them.

#23 According to one recent study, China could become the global leader in patent filings by next year.

#24 China is now the number one supplier of components that are critical to the operation of U.S. defense systems.

#25 In 2010, the number one U.S. export to China was “scrap and trash”.

#26 Thanks to our exploding trade deficit with China, the Chinese have accumulated nearly 3 trillion dollars in foreign currency reserves. That is the largest stockpile of foreign currency reserves on the entire globe.

#27 The amount of the trade deficit that can be attributed to foreign oil is at the highest level that we have seen since 2008.

#28 It is being projected that for the first time ever, the OPEC nations are going to bring in over a trillion dollars from exporting oil this year. Their biggest customer is the United States.

Our dependence on foreign oil is literally bleeding us dry. Once we have burned up all of that foreign oil in our cars we are left with nothing. But the people we bought all that oil from are still sitting on all that cash.

As we ship our wealth, our factories and our jobs out of the country, America is getting poorer.
That means that individual Americans are getting poorer.

According to one estimate, between 1999 and 2009 real median household income in the United States declined by 5.0%.
Today, over 44 million Americans are on food stamps and over 47 million Americans are living in poverty. This is not an accident and it didn’t happen overnight. Our economic policies are absolutely killing us.

This economic downturn has hit men particularly hard. As thousands of manufacturing facilities have shut down, millions of blue collar workers have been dumped out on the street. Most blue collar workers are men.

Since January 2008, male employment has declined by 4,932,000 jobs.

During 2010, only 66.8% of American men had jobs, which was a new all-time record low.

There are a lot of blue collar workers that are sitting at home on their couches today that are still trying to figure out what in the world happened to their good jobs.

There are now more than 6 million Americans that the government says have given up looking for work completely. Most of them are men.

Sadly, in our society today most of the people that pursue higher education are women. Today, 61% of all college degrees are earned by women.

Not that a college education is a ticket to success in today’s world. According to the Economic Policy Institute, the unemployment rate for college graduates younger than 25 years old was 9.3 percent in 2010.

In fact, the majority of all of our college graduates end up running home to Mom and Dad after they graduate.
According to a poll conducted by Twentysomething Inc., 85 percent of U.S. college graduates will move back home with their parents (at least initially) after graduation. That is up from 67 percent back in 2006.

The truth is that there are not nearly enough jobs for everyone and that is a huge problem.

We have become a nation that consumes far more wealth than it produces. That is a recipe for disaster any way that you cut it.
Until we have some fundamental changes to our trade policy, these long-term trends are just going to continue. We are going to continue to bleed wealth, bleed factories and bleed jobs.

Tax revenues go down when factories shut down and when American workers are sitting at home on their couches. This is a huge factor in why our federal, state and local governments are drowning in debt. We have got to have more wealth creation inside this country or else we are going to continue to see our government debt problems get even worse.

If you walk into just about any major retail store today, what do you find?

You find loads and loads of products that have been made somewhere else.

I hope that you are enjoying “the low, low prices” because they come at a very high cost.

We once had the greatest economic machine in the history of the world but now it is being gutted like a fish.

If we continue on the road that we are on, the entire country is eventually going to become just like Detroit.
Is that what you want?
